What this site is
“Dades Cat” gathers public statistics already published by official bodies, brings them together and presents them in a readable way. It produces no data of its own and does not replace the official publications of the bodies that produce them: in case of any discrepancy, the original source prevails, and every figure identifies it.
Where the data comes from and under what licence
Each dataset records the licence stated by its source, without harmonising it: Idescat datasets are CC BY 4.0 and those from the Government of Catalonia's portal refer to their own terms of use. Every API response and every download carries the citation already written out.
Anyone reusing what is here must cite the original source, not this portal. Details of sources and licences are in the project documentation.
The limits of our responsibility
Data is reproduced as the source publishes it, including its limitations, which the portal states for each dataset: partial coverage, provisional figures, means that are not medians or values the source does not publish. Reading them before drawing conclusions is part of using the data well.
There is no guarantee that the service will always be available or that an external source will not change or withdraw what it publishes.
