What is processed, and why

When What is stored Legal basis How long
You request data through the form The text of the request and, only if you give it, your email Consent: filling it in and sending it is voluntary Until the request has been dealt with or dismissed
You send the form (abuse limit) Your IP address, only in memory and never in any file Legitimate interest: preventing automated sending Minutes; it disappears when the service restarts
You choose a language A cookie with the chosen language (“ca”, “es” or “en”), with no identifier You asked for it: it opens the portal for you in that language One year
You choose your municipality The municipality's code and name, in your browser. The server does not store it: it only receives, like any query, the request for its page You asked for it: it opens the home page and the analyses with it Until you press “Forget it” or clear your browser data
A page fails The error message, the page (without the query part of the address) and where the code failed. It is sent to Sentry so that it can be fixed. Not the IP address, the cookies or the browser Legitimate interest: keeping the portal working 90 days, at Sentry (servers in the European Union)
You ask the agent The question is sent to the model provider so it can be answered Providing the service you asked for Depends on the provider; it is not stored here

Nothing else is collected. In particular: there is no profiling, no advertising, no third-party analytics and no data is sold to anyone.

Cookies

There is at most one, and only if you ask for it: the language one. This portal has no user accounts and no session cookies.

That is why this portal does not ask for your permission with any pop-up: a cookie that serves something you asked for does not need consent. If you don't change the language, none is written.

If you choose a language with the selector at the top (CA · ES · EN), the portal sets the cookie llengua so your next visit opens in that language. It only says “ca”, “es” or “en”, carries no identifier and expires after a year.

Apart from cookies, the portal can remember the municipality you have chosen as yours, in the browser's local storage. It is not a cookie: it does not travel with requests on its own; the page uses it to request that municipality's page, as if you had typed it again. It is only stored when you choose it. Below the municipality's name there is always a button to forget it. The portal does not guess where you are: neither from your IP address nor from your device's location.

Usage measurement

We count how many queries, downloads and questions there have been, to know whether the portal is any use. The log stores the time, the kind of use and which dataset, and nothing else: no IP address, no browser, no visitor identifier.

The consequence, stated because it is a decision and not an oversight: returning visitors cannot be counted. That would require identifying who comes in, and we have chosen not to.

Who else has access

No one, except where needed to run the service: the hosting provider, which has technical access, and the language model provider, if you use the agent — in that case your question reaches it, because it is what answers it. If the agent is switched off, nothing reaches it.

If a page or the server fails, the technical details of the error are sent to Sentry, the service that collects the portal's errors, with servers in the European Union: the message, the page where it happened (without the query part of the address) and the point in the code. Never the IP address, the cookies, the browser or any other personal data, and your browser never connects to Sentry: the error goes through the portal's server. If the portal does not have Sentry configured, nothing is sent.

Your rights

You can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and ask for its portability. To do so, write to info@dadescat.cat.

If you think it has not been done properly, you can complain to the Catalan Data Protection Authority (apdcat.gencat.cat) or the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
